Anti-cheat for Garry's Mod servers

Mizan's anti-cheat judges how each player on a Garry's Mod server aims, moves and shoots. It judges what a cheat makes the player do, so a new, private or paid cheat is judged the same way as a free one.

The anti-cheat is opening to Garry's Mod communities one at a time.

What it detects

The cheat features Mizan's anti-cheat detects, whichever cheat they come from, and more than 100 other detections it keeps to itself.

Six families, each a setting of its own

A community can turn any family off, set how sure Mizan must be, and give it an action of its own.

  • Aim assistance

Cheats that aim for the player.

    Aimbots and aim assist

  • Input integrity

Cheats that tamper with what the player's mouse and keyboard send.

    Injected and altered input

  • Recoil and spread

Cheats that take away recoil or spread. These add to cases for review and never act on their own.

    No-recoil and no-spread

  • Movement automation

Scripts that jump, strafe or crouch for the player.

    Bunnyhop and auto-strafe scripts

  • Network and timing

Cheats that hold back, bunch up or rewrite what the player's game sends.

    Fake lag and rewritten packets

  • View manipulation

Anti-aim, and views no player's hands can make.

    Anti-aim and spinbots

Judged on how they play, never on their score

Kills, headshots, accuracy and K/D are never evidence. A very good player is judged the same way as anyone else: by how they aim and move.

  • Relaxed

Needs more before it opens a case: fewer detections, fewer to review.

  • Balanced

    Mizan's recommended setting.

  • Strict

Opens cases on less, for your staff to review only. Alerts, kicks and bans still need full evidence.

Your community decides what happens

A new server starts in report only: Mizan records each case and acts only once you choose to. Then each case climbs the ladder you set.

  1. Every case

    Log only

Recorded for your staff to read.

  2. From 1 case

    Flag

Your staff are alerted in the game and through your webhooks.

  3. From 2 cases

    Kick

The player is removed from the server.

  4. From 3 cases

    Ban

Banned for the days you set, or for good.

  • Up to 3 further steps, each from the number of cases you choose.
  • Act immediately, when the round ends or after a delay. Each server follows the community or sets its own.
  • Exempt up to 200 players, such as your staff when they test.

Whichever cheat it is

Because Mizan judges behaviour, a cheat that's new, private or missing from this list is judged the same way.
